This course prepares students for a career as a certified pharmacy technician. Students will gain knowledge in pharmacology, drug classifications, pharmacy law, medication safety, calculations, and sterile/non-sterile compounding. The course also covers inventory control, insurance billing, and pharmacy technology. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, communication, and ethical responsibilities within the healthcare team. Hands-on labs and externship opportunities provide real-world experience. Upon completion, students will be eligible to sit for a national certification exam such as the PTCB or NHA.
